Magic of Film?

Thu Jan 29, 2009, 3:36 PM
Its an old line. But until you work with film, it does have a magic of sorts.
Of course, it all depends on what you're working with, HD, 16mm, 35mm... each medium of film is different and produces a different effect.

Now I don't know film as in depth as some, or most, but what I have come to realise is that to the eye, on set, it looks a hell of a lot different as it does through the lens. thats even before you put in all those fancy effects and what not. I like old school. I like the picture before it changes, if you cant create it without using the effect, then to me, you're cheating.

I like old school explosions, there's no subsitute... but let's stick to topic.

It looks better, as they say, "on the big screen."

  • Watching: Broken Flowers (2005)
  • Drinking: Coca-Cola

I'm a studying Production Designer, I love watching, observing... so I mostly take photographs of what I see, what I can use in film/video production. So, here are some pictures taken in places that are beautiful, and honestly, everything is beautiful, man made and natural.
